WE HAVE HELP

John 14:16 & 26 NKJ 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

This chapter is full of truth that is so important to us.

This is the chapter where Jesus goes into more detail regarding the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

He said that He would ask the Father, and He, the Father, would give us another Helper to stay with us forever. Jesus knew He would be leaving earth, but the Holy Spirit would stay with us and help us, or another word, comfort us.

Later Jesus would reveal that the Holy Spirit, our Helper, would teach us and bring Jesus' words back to us. The Holy Spirit has come to play a huge role in the lives of those who believe in Jesus. Jesus is not here in bodily form, but He did not leave us alone. He sent The Helper.

APPLICATION

The Holy Spirit has often been a mystery to many believers. It's rare that He is mentioned, and yet He is very much real and very much God.

He has been sent to help us, comfort us, strengthen us, teach us, and bring God's word back to us. He is someone to be honored and recognized, not someone to be afraid of. It may not have helped us that the King James Bible referred to Him as the Holy Ghost, but He wants to be a major help in our lives. And as we recognize and look to Him, He will be a blessing to us just as Jesus said He would.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Father, for sending the Holy Spirit to me. I am so glad He is helping and teaching me. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for being my Helper.
