ONE THING I KNOW

John 9:25 NKJV He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

This entire chapter is dedicated to the miracle of a man, who was born blind, receiving sight when Jesus healed him.

This man was not even aware of who Jesus was. But when questioned, or rather verbally assaulted by the Pharisees, he had a great answer.

The Pharisees tried to pin the label of sinner on Jesus because He healed the blind man on the Sabbath. This man’s answer was classic, I don’t know about Him being a sinner, but I know one thing, now I see. I was blind but now I see was the one thing that mattered most to this formerly blind man.

Later, Jesus revealed Himself to this man as the Son of God and the man wisely expressed his belief in Jesus and worshipped Him.

APPLICATION

Many years ago, a friend of mine had worked with Amway, a well-known multi-level marketing company. He told me Amway’s response when people would question their legitimacy - ‘Well, I don’t know about all that, but I know that I made X amount of money. A purely evasive answer but the principle can work for believers in Christ.

When people question the existence of God or the accuracy of scripture or the problems with organized religion; our best answer . . . I don’t know about all that but one thing I know, Jesus has made a difference in my life. Or Jesus has given me peace, freed me from pain or addiction, restored my marriage or health. Whatever Jesus has done for you is the best answer. So, we are not answering people’s problems and misconceptions we are magnifying what Jesus has done for us. And no one can argue with our personal experience. One thing I know!
