A Clear Mission

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 NKJV

These words had to be so profound coming from the lips of Jesus. In this simple passage, Jesus gave such a clear vision of why He came.

The motive of God was love. An unconditional love that was not earned or deserved.

And the end result is that the world might be saved. Not condemned. Saved.

Jesus confronted the religion of His day that created an elitist mentality and culture. But His overreaching mission was the salvation of the world. Not proving He was God or establishing a new moral code. He came to save a world God loves. So simple yet so immeasurably powerful.

APPLICATION:

Jesus had a clear sense of mission that enabled Him to stay on track with what God had sent Him to do.

It was this mission that enabled Him to endure the cross.

The clearer our mission in life, the greater our capacity to deal with life’s dilemmas and distractions. As a church, we are here for the salvation of people. And for all who are part of the Ark, that’s a shared mission.

Ask God today what He would have you do as your part in saving a world He loves. Whether it’s preaching, singing, giving, or serving, everyone has a part to play.

Jesus had a mission, and that sense of mission helped Him. A clear sense of mission will help you too.
