YOUR GOOD DEED FOR TODAY

PSALM 92:1 NKJ

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;

OBSERVATION: 

Psalm 92 is not nearly as famous as the 91st Psalm. But there is always good stuff in God's word.    

Our good deed for today is to give thanks to the Lord. And to sing praises to God. The book of Psalms is full of thanksgiving and praise. It's also worth noting that Psalms is the longest book in the Bible.

It is good to give thanks and praise. It is good for a number of reasons.  

It's good to give thanks and praise because this is better than complaining and blaming. When we are thanking and praising God, we are always on safe ground.    

It is good to give thanks and praise because it is an act of our faith. We are expressing our faith in God by thanking Him and praising Him. If we did not believe in Him, we would not offer our praises and thanksgiving.   

 It is good to give thanks and sing praises because this strengthens our faith. We are all praying or believing for something. When we give thanks, we are strengthening our grip on God's promises. And when we are giving thanks and singing praises, we are expressing our faith that God has done great things for us. And great things are coming our way.    

It is good to give thanks and praise to God because this increases our awareness of Him. When we express thanks and sing praise, we activate our connection to Him. He is always with us, but thanksgiving and praise is our entrance into His presence.  

It is good to give thanks and praise because it insulates us from depression and fear. As we thank God and sing praise to Him, we rise above our feelings and actively resist the negatives that come our way.   

It is good to give thanks and sing praises to God because He says it is good. His word is inspired, so if He says it's good, it is good.     

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness. I choose to do a good thing and give thanks and praise to You today.
