A WHOLE LOT OF GOOD GOING ON

EPHESIANS 1:3-7 NKJ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

OBSERVATION:

Ephesians is a letter to the church at Ephesus that spells out many of the amazing blessings that we have in Christ.

The terms in Christ, in Him, in whom, reveal what belongs to us spiritually speaking when we made Jesus our Lord. These truths become the basis of our faith and our life with God.

At first glance, these truths may not appear real. That's not because they are lacking in reality. They are spiritual truths that do not register on our feelings or senses. We cannot see, feel and touch these realities, but that does not mean they do not exist.

So armed with this knowledge, we approach these truths at faith value, not face value. In other words, we receive them into our lives by faith in much the same way we received Jesus.

In believing in Jesus, we are united with Him. And this is a blessed union. So as we read these verses, we accept them as a faith fact.

We are, not going to be, blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. So we can say with confidence, I am blessed in Christ.

We are chosen in Him and have the capacity to be holy and without blame before Him. So we can say, I am chosen in Christ.

We have been adopted as sons because of Jesus because it pleased God to make us part of His family.

We have been made accepted by God because we are united with Christ. The margin of my Bible reads we have had grace, or favor, bestowed upon us. We are the accepted in Christ, not the rejected.

We have been redeemed, purchased by the blood of Jesus, and our sins have been forgiven. That's all good.

APPLICATION:

The best way to apply these verses is to read them and then say about yourself what they say. You will not be lying. You'll be speaking spiritual truths. These truths may sound awkward at first but stay with it. I am going to read these 5 verses every day this week out loud and agree with God's word that this is who I am.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You that in Christ I am blessed, chosen, adopted, accepted, redeemed, and forgiven.
